Looking for a cute way to decorate your pool or backyard this Halloween? This not-so-spooky scarecrow float is a great DIY project that you can do at home. There are not many decorations out there for the pool, so sometimes you have to create your own. This project uses items you can find at your local Pinch A Penny pool store or around the house! You can even get the kids involved and have them help! This scarecrow is right at home in your pool or patio.

Here are is everything you will need:

  • 1 Pumpkin Float
  • 3 Pool Noodles
  • 1 Mini Boat Rider
  • 1 Sun Lounge (or similar float)
  • Plaid Shirt
  • Jeans
  • Handful of Push Pins
  • Handful of Safety Pins
  • Hula Table Skirt
  • Straw Hat
  • Scissors
  • Optional- Electric Pump

Directions 

Step 1- Inflate the Mini Boat Rider to about 80%

Step 2- Dress the Mini Boat Rider float in the shirt and jeans

Step 3- Safety pin jeans to shirt

Step 4- Cut noodles in half

Step 5- Stuff noodles into the legs of jeans and sleeves of the shirt, trimming as needed.

Step 6- Wrap section of hula band 1 time around noodle and cut band to size

Step 7- Pin cuff to noodle through hula band

Step 8- Tie hula straws together

Step 9- Trim hula straws as needed

Step 10- Repeat for arms

Step 11- Safety pin hula band to neck of shirt and cut to size

Step 12- Inflate pumpkin

Step 13- Puncture 5 holes in cardboard base

Step 14- Thread hula strands from neckline through pumpkin and tie inside

Step 15- Trim neckline as needed

Step 16- Use trimmed hula strands or hay to stuff shirt

Step 17- Add a hat!

Step 18- Inflate Sun Lounge and place scarecrow on top in pool
